Christina Perri returned to the place that started it all, the So You Think You Can Dance stage! The singer-songwriter performed her newest single “Burning Gold” on last night’s episode of the Fox dance competition show as dancers Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Kathryn McCormick danced around her. Though this was an homage to Christina’s career beginning performance, it clearly emphasized just how far she’s come!
In 2010 an unknown and unsigned Christina Perri premiered her song “Jar of Hearts” to the world when Fox’s So You Think you Can Dance used the song in a performance. The song garnered so much attention that she was asked to sing the song live on the show. Christina once said that the minute the show aired her life was changed forever as the song immediately began climbing the charts, she couldn’t understand how this was happening at the time, saying, “I don’t exist, you know like, I’m no one, I’m a waitress!” But her talent was undeniable and she soon signed with Atlantic Records who she said loved her for who she was and told her to keep doing what she was doing!

Flash forward a few years and Christina has sold millions of records and is practically a household name. Her second album, Head or Heart, was released in April and she’s about to embark on a worldwide tour with Demi Lovato. Last night she took the stage once again as she sang her latest single “Burning Gold” and she looked ecstatic to be back at the show that started it all!
